Working to change the lives of vulnerable children in impoverished urban areas by providing clean, safe drinking water to orphanages, schools, children’s hospitals, street shelters and rescue homes.
Ayni Education
By fostering interchanges between the United States and Afghanistan, Ayni creates quality educational opportunities in Afghanistan that empower and inspire children and their families to build peaceful, just and life-affirming communities.
Confucius Institute of the State of Washington
Confucius Institutes are a non-profit initiative of the Hanban, the executive body of the Chinese Language Council International, a non-governmental and non-profit organization affiliated to the Ministry of Education of China. Over 250 Confucius Institutes have been established in 90 countries around the world, with nearly 70 in the United States. The Confucius Institute Education Center is located at Chief Sealth International High School in West Seattle. The education center hosts professional development for teaching Chinese culture and language.

Facing the Future creates tools for educators that equip and motivate students to develop critical thinking skills, build global awareness and engage in positive solutions for a sustainable future.
Foundation for International Understanding Through Students
FIUTS (The Foundation for International Understanding Through Students) connects university students to local and global communities through programs that build international awareness, cross-cultural communication, and informed leadership. Based on campus at the University of Washington, FIUTS programs create a community of international and American students, members of the local community, and alumni around the world.
Global Visionaries
Global Visionaries (GV) empowers youth from diverse socio-economic, ethnic, racial, and geographic backgrounds to become active leaders and global citizens who promote justice. Through socially conscious and environmentally focused education and community service in Seattle and abroad, and recognizing that youth need to work together to be the change for the future, GV encourages youth to seek alternative and innovative approaches to the problems facing their generation. GV takes Seattle-area youth and educators to Guatemala for two weeks as part of the leadership program.
Global Washington
Global Washington is a broad-based membership association that promotes and supports the global development sector in the state of Washington. Composed of non-profit organizations, foundations, businesses, government and academic institutions, our members work collectively to build a more equitable and prosperous world. Global Washington convenes members to generate new opportunities for growth; strengthens member organizations to increase their impact; and advocates across key global development issues at the local, national, and global level.

One World Now!
OneWorld Now! is an award-winning and innovative social venture that exists to develop the next generation of global leaders. OWN is committed to providing critical language skills, leadership training and study abroad opportunities to underserved youth.
OSPI International Education Office
International Education seeks to integrate global perspectives in a variety of academic disciplines that include Social Studies (civics, history, geography, and economics) Environmental and Sustainability Education and World Languages. The International Education Office coordinates multiple exchange and visiting teacher programs. While OSPI provides resources and information for student exchange, OSPI does not directly sponsor or facilitate student exchange.
Richard’s Rwanda
Richard Rwanda-IMPUHWE was founded by Jessica Markowitz when she was eleven years old to support educational opportunities for girls in Rwanda in the rural village of Nyamata. Richard’s Rwanda IMPUHWE has established student chapters in several middle and high school across the Unites States working together to support Rwandan girls’ education.
Seattle BioMed
Through BioQuest, Seattle BioMed forges links between schools, public health officials, scientists and the community at large. This award-winning program raises enthusiasm and excitement for teens to discover their abilities to advocate for new solutions to lift the global burden of disease.

SEAVURIA
The SEAVURIA project pairs students from Vuria, in rural Kenya with Seattle-area students and mentoring scientists. SEAVURIA strives to create a sustainable partnership of global awareness through education for and by youth. When students are engaged in authentic curriculum, enhanced through technology and directed by their own questions, students will express the passion, the curiosity and the will to make a difference in their world.
STARTALK (WA)
STARTALK’s mission is to increase the number of Americans learning, speaking, and teaching critical need foreign languages by offering students (K–16) and teachers of these languages creative and engaging summer experiences that strive to exemplify best practices in language education and in language teacher development.
Teachers Without Borders
Teachers Without Borders connects teachers to information and each other to create local change on a global scale.
University of Washington Department of Global Health
The UW Department of Global Health was established in 2007, bridging the schools of Medicine and Public Health, with a mandate to harness the expertise and interdisciplinary power of all 16 UW schools and colleges. Our current and emerging focus areas include: health metrics and evaluation, infectious diseases, workforce development, health system strengthening and implementation science, climate change, global trauma and violence, global medicines safety, and a strong cross-cutting focus on social justice and equity.
University of Washington Jackson School of International Studies – Center for Global Studies
The Center for Global Studies (CGS) mission is to enhance understandings about the world's cultures, societies and economies as they shape and are shaped by global and transnational forces. As one of eight National Resource Centers housed in the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington, CGS provides resources for transforming interdisciplinary global studies via its research and teaching foci, professional training opportunities for educators, general public programs, and media outreach. Our Global Studies Initiatives focus on global human security, global health and global religions.
Washington Association for Bilingual Education (WABE)
The Washington Association for Bilingual Education promotes bilingual/multicultural education throughout the state of Washington in every possible way, at all educational and legislative levels, and among all groups. Our charge is to increase educational opportunities for all children whose background suggests bilingual/multicultural education is the more appropriate and effective type of program for them. Because of our increasingly global community and the inherent advantages of bilingualism and multicultural awareness, we also seek to promote such programs for all populations.
Washington Association for Language Teaching
Founded in 1964, the Washington Association for Language Teaching (WAFLT) serves a membership of 400 to 600 elementary through university level language teachers. WAFLT seeks to meet the needs of a profession dedicated to the teaching of world language skills and cultural awareness by providing information and sensitive global perspectives in an era of ever-increasing internationalization.
Washington Global Health Alliance (WGHA)
The Washington Global Health Alliance (WGHA) supports and advocates for Washington state's global health community as a nexus for research, education, training, commercialization, and delivery on the world stage.
Water 1st International
Water 1st unites people to fight the global water and sanitation crisis. We believe this worldwide, silent catastrophe will be solved when we build a community of concerned individuals and mobilize them to take simple, effective actions.
World Affairs Council Global Classroom Program
Global Classroom extends the World Affairs Council’s message of global engagement to K-12 classrooms by providing curricular resources, professional development programs for teachers, and leadership activities for high school students.
